Thicker Than Water
I found I was lost,
Alone in a dark place;
You reached out your hands and grabbed hold.
You held to me tight,
And helped me feel safe again;
My heart came to bloom like a rose
They say that blood is
Thicker than water,
But water comes from the womb;
The ones that stand close
In the blood of your battles,
Whether you win or you lose,
They're the family you choose
On the table's a feast,
There's a crowd in the kitchen;
A family to make me feel home.
Through laughter and tears,
Shared stories together,
These are the treasures I hold
They say that blood is
Thicker than water,
But water comes from the womb;
The ones that stand close
In the blood of your battles,
Whether you win or you lose,
They're the family you choose
You've shown me what
Love really means;
Like a mother, a daughter,
A sister in need;
A love letter, the Maker sent you to me
Together we've walked,
Roads painful and beautiful,
And who knows what's yet to come
So whatever the time,
And no matter the distance,
I'll be right here by your side
They say that blood is
Thicker than water,
But water comes from the womb;
The ones that stand close
In the blood of your battles,
Whether you win or you lose,
They're the family you choose
